	Shelter Office Plaza BDY was commissioned by Shelter Enterprises to provide the master planning of approximately 5.19 acres for an office complex located adjacent to their headquarters in Columbia, Missouri. In conjunction with this, BDY also provided design services for the three Class A office buildings to be built. The complex consists of one two-story 40,000 SF building and two single-story 10,000 SF buildings. The architects worked closely with Shelter Enterprises to develop a core and shell design for each building that allows greater flexibility in relation to future subdivisions of tenant lease spaces. The design concept is that of a contemporary prairie style. Through the use of a horizontal emphasis, low pitched roofs, and large eave overhangs; the design reflects, respects, and incorporates the low massing elements of the surrounding residential community. The total project cost is estimated to be $8.72 million and completion is scheduled for November 2006.
