	First Baptist Church BDY has performed a comprehensive master plan for the First Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas. The church has a 140-acre site outside of town that the congregation wished to develop to serve both church members and the Tyler community. BDY worked closely with members of the congregation and the Building Committee to develop facility plans for the complex that take full advantage of the heavily wooded site and respond to the mission, needs and wishes of the congregation. The master plan includes a sports pavilion, multi-purpose building, an auditorium, an education building, a Christian Arts & Media Center, a prayer garden with a small chapel, campgrounds, playgrounds and numerous recreational facilities. Hiking trails and bike paths, and water features including a lake and two smaller ponds, are scattered throughout the site. Future plans include a retirement village. The master plan is phased over a period of ten years until full development is reached. Phase one includes the Sports Pavilion, recreational fields, amphitheatre, challenge course, lake and infrastructure.
